Interoperability
SSH
Communications Security has actively participated
in the standardization of the Secure Shell protocol
in the IETF. One of the driving forces behind our
Secure Shell development has been and is to design
products that adhere to the protocol standard to
gain maximum interoperability with other vendors'
implementations.
The
progress and status of the ongoing standardization
effort for the Secure Shell v2 protocol can be best
followed at the Secure Shell (SecSH) working group
page at
www.ietf.org/html.charters/secsh-charter.html.
PKI Interoperability
SSH Tectia Connector supports digital certificates
for secure and scalable user authentication. Also,
smart cards and other hardware tokens can be used
for strong, two-factor authentication. By supporting
the standard and commonly used cryptographic APIs,
SSH Tectia Connector interoperates with a wide variety
of third-party PKI products.
Smart Cards/Hardware Tokens:
Certification Authorities:
RSA SecurID
The SSH Tectia client/server solution enables the
use of RSA SecurID two-factor authentication instead
of a memorized password when added security is needed.
Please see Strong Two-Factor Authentication with
RSA SecurID - Application Note for more information.
Secure
Application Connectivity
To make sure SSH Tectia is easy to use in heterogeneous
multi-application environments, SSH conducts regular
in-house compatibility testing with a wide range
of commercial application software. Tested application
products include SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, Lotus
Notes, and common e-mail applications. Compatibility
documents that provide guidance for setting up tunneling
with different types of software are available in
the SSH Resource Center. See SSH Resource Center
for more information.
